Thanks for the Christchurch love
Thank you for hanging in there while I have been all but missing in action this past week. All of the heartfelt comments you have left in honor of the Christchurch, New Zealand earthquake victims are deeply appreciated. Being that so many of my dear friends have personally suffered from this devastating disaster, it is comforting to know that you continue to send your prayers and well wishes their way. For this I shall be forever grateful.
I also realize that you take time out of your busy day to stop by The Ranter’s Box for your regular dose of laughter and word pervery. Please know that being able to bring a smile to your day is still and will always be my primary mission. Therefore it is beyond touching that despite my recent sadness and lack of posts, that not only have you all continued to hang in there but we have also happily had some brand new readers join our snarky family.
You guys are the best!
xo The Empress
PS: For those of you that asked how you could donate to the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake Appeal, this is the link to the New Zealand Red Cross.

As an Aussie, I am overcome with sadness for our relatives across the water! It really feels like the Southern Hemisphere is copping more than its fair share of natural disasters at the moment. I had friends caught in the inland tsunami in Toowoomba and some really close friends who were cut off from their kids for a week during the floods in Northern Victoria. But...none of that was as devastating as the search for bodies in Christchurch at the moment..the not knowing must be destroying so many families. xxoo
ReplyDelete@LottieSpartacus: Sorry for your hard times in OZ. The folks down under have really been getting hard with all of the natural disasters. Thanks for your support for your kiwi neighbors. It is much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteDarling Empress. This is your blog to do with as you will. I think it was wonderful that you highlighted the Christchurch Earthquake. So devasting and as I said before, thoughts, prayers and hugs for you and your friends in such a sad time. Pesonally I think if you can make someone feel something then you are an awesome blogger and you are.
ReplyDeleteNo problem, prayers don't take long to get in.

You take all the time out in the world you need mama! I know exactly what they are going through. After seeing family members go through hell (Katrina) I know what it's like to see family suffer. I will donate 20 bucks...it's not much by far but I just wanna send my love in any way! As a matter of fact, I'm gonna post this link on my blog too so that others might be able to help!
ReplyDeleteI can't begin to imagine what they're going through. Whenever I'm feeling down about my lack of a job/money, I remember NZ and realize how fortunate I am.
ReplyDeleteOH, I finished the Red Cross banner and posted below the posts on my blog! If you want one too I will send you the code and the instruction to post it!!!! Just hit up my email!
ReplyDeleteOH I am so sorry. My heart breaks. I have never been but my Dad did and at 79 he still dreams of moving there. When we were so devastated by Katrina the world poured so much love to us and that meant so much. Although my town was not on the news we felt the love from around the world. I hope that they can feel the love from over here.

My first visit to your blog after reading your comments over at SD's blog was the true rant over that idiots comments. I have since read some of the older posts and have enjoyed them very much. As far as I can see it If my two cents count I did not even hear about this until I read your blog. I have been keeping the people of Christ Church in my prayers.
ReplyDelete@Runew: Thanks for the blog love and your kind words in support of my kiwi mates back in Christchurch.
ReplyDeletePlease don't rush, take as much time as you need to compose yourself after a tragedy. Sometimes it's hard to get back to everyday life after such a disaster. My heart goes out to Christchurch and I hope that everything works out.
